Behind the Polka Dot Door – Trojan style

Remember Polkaroo?polka_dot_door_0_0

Let me take you back to the long-running kid’s TV series produced and broadcast by TVOntario from 1971 until 1993 which was set in a large playhouse.  I watched that show – in the early years – and will always remember Marigold, Humpty and Dumpty.  But I especially loved it when I was invited to peer through the Polka Dot Door to witness an educational video on something cool and previously mysterious, like how crayons are made.

I’m starting my own version of the Polka Dot Door.  I’ll search out videos that give us and our kids some insights into sex and sexuality.  Nothing x-rated.

Starting with a condom factory. I like the description of how they get ‘pushed to their limits’.  Helps to combat the ‘these things don’t fit me’ myth.

Also, check out this little number.  Made by MTV. Makes me think of Fred Estaire dancing.  I love the smiley guy 8 seconds in.  I want a speech bubble over him that says something like ‘this job is WAY better than my last gig at the lube plant’

  1. OH MY FREAK. Condoms are FASCINATING. Who knew! I’d never given them any thought.
